C O Z Y: winterlicher Secondhand-Haul ❅

[GER/ENG] Ich habe in meiner Heimat im kalten Herzen Ostfriesland's mal wieder im sozialen Kaufhaus der Stadt vorbeigeschaut. Man könnte auch sagen: Ich kam, ich sah, ich kaufte. Heute zeige ich euch was ich für den Winter geshoppt habe, und dass es so viel schicke, warme und kuschelige Secondhand-Kleidung gibt, die in neue Hände fallen will!

When I stayed with my family at the beginning of this month, in the cold heart of nothern Germany, I took a peek into my favourite charity shop again. You could say that I went, I saw, and I bought. A lot. Today I'll show you what I shopped for the winter months, and that there is so much pretty, warm and cosy secondhand-clothing out there that wants a new owner!

Schön, dass ihr hier seid heute an diesem verregneten, kalten Tag im deutschen Norden. Holt euch doch einen Tee! :-)

Für solche Tage braucht man einfach etwas zum auf-der-Couch kuscheln, oder? Ich sitze hier also logischerweise in meinem neuen Bademantel, während ich diesen Blogpost schreibe.

Bei meinem lokalen Oxfam kosten die meisten Bademantel knapp 20€. Aber dieses Frottee-Monster hat mich nur 5€ gekostet! Einmal durchwaschen, anziehen, Tee trinken und glücklich sein.

For these kind of days, one just needs something to throw on after a nice shower and wear around the apartment until it's dark out again! So obviously, I sit here in my amazing new bathrobe while writing this blogpost.

My local Oxfam sells these for like 20€, but I got this frottee-monster for 5€! Wash it, wear it, drink your black tea and smile.

~ I. Corduroy Overload ~

Ich liebe Cord ja das ganze Jahr über. Aber im Winter sieht ein Cordrock zur Zopfmuster-Strumpfhose eben besonders schön aus. Und noch schöner ist es, wenn man eine Cordjacke findet, die farblich fast exakt zu dem beigen Cordrock passt, den man sich grade von der Stange geschnappt hat! Beide wie neu, nichts dran.

*Für die Bilder habe ich die Sachen nun nicht wie sonst gestyled, deshalb auch die nackten Beine und Ballerinas ^^

I love corduroy in every season. But in the winter time, a corduroy skirt just looks super nice paired with a warm pair of tights. And it's even prettier when you find a corduroy jacket that matches the beige color of the skirt that you just snatched from the hanger in the same shop! Both are as they were brandnew.

*I didn't style the items for this post, hence the naked legs and the flats ^^

 

Besonders cool sieht dazu auch mein blau-grün-gelb-orange gesprenkelter Schal aus, den ich kürzlich im Fairkaufhaus Bemerkenswert! in der Bremer Innenstadt gekauft habe.

My new blue-green-yellow-orange speckled scarf, which I recently got in a local charity shop in Bremen, looks pretty good with my new jacket as well :-)

Ein weiterer Cordrock, der im Vergleich zu meinen anderen Cordröcken sehr edel wirkt. Die Länge ist etwas seltsam, aber wenn ich darüber einen Pullover trage, krempel ich den Rock oben einfach hoch, hihi.

Another corduroy-skirt in a blazing red color, which feels very high-quality to my other ones. The length is a little bit weird though, but when I wear a big sweater with it I just roll the skirt up at the top to make it shorter! #genius

~ II. Jetzt scheint die Sonne ~

Schaut euch diesen wunderbaren, sonnengelben Cardigan an!! Ich war vor einiger Zeit fast in Versuchung geraten, einen ähnlichen bei C&A zu kaufen. Aber ich wollte meinen Secondhand-Only-Vorsatz nicht aufgeben, und siehe da - finde ich glatt einen gelben Strickcardigan für 3.50€. Da ist es mir auch egal, wenn das Wetter draußen grau ist.

Achja, und Cordrock Nr. 3. Diesen habe ich aber nicht im sozialen Kaufhaus, sondern auf für'n Euro auf Ebay ersteigert. Die Verkäuferin tat mir etwas leid, aber ich bin natürlich froh, ein solche Schnäppchen gemacht zu haben - besonders weil er etwas zu weit ist und ich ihn noch einnähen muss.

Look at this wonderfully yellow cardigan!! A while back I was tempted to buy a similar one at C&A. 
But giving up my secondhand-only-pledge wasn't worth it, and karma awared me by finding this yellow knitted version secondhand for 3.50€. Wearing that one, I don't even care if the weather keeps being grey. 

Oh, and that striped skirt is corduroy skirt No.3. I didn't get this in said chairity shop, but in an auction on Ebay for 1€. I felt a little sorry for the seller, but obviously I'm happy for making such a good deal - especially because the skirt is a little wide on me and i have to adjust it.

~ III. Ein weiterer Oma-Cardigan ~

Granny-Style Ahoi! Ich glaube wirklich, dass dieser Cardigan irgendwann von einer alten ostfriesischen Oma selbsgestrickt und im sozialen Kaufhaus abgegeben wurde. Jetzt gehört er mir :) ich liebe die Details und Farbsprenkel!

Granny-style ahoi! I really do believe that this cardigan was knitted years ago by a little grandma, who just gave it to my charity shop. And now it's mine. I love the detailing and speckles of color! 

 ~ IV. Ein weiterer Opa-Pulli ~

Mein Körper scheint eine wandelnde Heizung zu sein, sodass ich Pullover wirklich nur im Winter tragen kann. Endlich! Ich liebe die Farbkombi von diesem hier- Ich habe ihn auch schonmal auf Instagram gezeigt, wie ihr unten sehen könnt.

My body seems to be a walking radiator, so I can only wear sweaters when it's really really cold out. Finally! I love the color-combo in this one. Scroll down and you can see how I styled it recently!

 ~ V. 80er Trachten-Jacke? ~

Und nun, meine Damen und Herren, der coolste meiner Funde - diese unglaubliche schicke Jacke. An Männern mit Gr. 46, für die sie eigentlich gedacht ist, sitzt sie wohl wie ein Blazer. Aber an mir wie eine Oversized-Version.

Ich interessiere mich ja immer für die Hintergründe von Secondhand-Stücken. Und bei diesem hier hab ich angenommen, dass sie von einem Trachten-Hersteller ist, da sie so bayrisch aussieht. Aber nö - die Marke (Miss Joy - heute werden unter dem Namen Dessous verkauft) ist dieselbe wie die einer kurzen Leder-Shorts, die ich in den alten Sachen meiner werten Frau Mutter gefunden habe. Laut ihr stammt die aus den 80ern oder 90ern. Die Marke war allerdings nicht für Trachten-Sachen bekannt gewesen... Naja ich schweife wieder ab, ich bin mir sicher ihr werdet diese Jacke definitv in vielen meine zukünftigen Outfits wiedersehen!

 

And now, ladies and gentlemen, the coolest of my latest finds - this unbelievably awesome jacket. On men who wear a size 46, who it was originally made for, it should fit like a blazer - but on me, it's an oversized version. Just the way I like it.

As you know, I'm really interested in the background of secondhand-pieces. With this one, I though that it's made by some German Trachten-brand, because it looks so "bayrisch" (The place in Germany where the Oktoberfest takes place). But no - the brand of the jacket (MISS JOY, these days only dessous are sold under that name), is the same as a pair of shorts that I found in my mom's old stuff from the 80s or 90s! They weren't popular for making traditional german clothing though, weird...anyways, I'm drifting off again. I'm certain you'll see that jacket in many of my future outfits!

~ VI. Vertrocknete Blumen und gute Vorsätze /dried flowers and good resolutions ~

Als letztes habe ich noch 2 Bilder mit selbstgepressten Blumen mitgenommen. Ich möchte nämlich meine Badezimmerwand mit ganz vielen interessanten Bildern schmücken. Deshalb sind auch die vielen Mini-Rahmen auf dem folgenden Foto zu sehen, die meine Mama mir mitgegeben hat, bevor ich wieder nach Bremen gefahren bin. Bis ich anfange, die aufzuhängen, wird wahrscheinlich wieder eine Ewigkeit vergehen - aber schön anzusehen sind sie auch im nicht-aufgehängten Zustand ^^

And last but not least, I took home these 2 pictureframes with seemingly self-pressed flowers. I plan to decorate my bathroom-wall with loads of interesting pictures (That is why you see the many small frames in the following foto, my mom gave them to me before I went back to Bremen). Until I collected more and start to hang them up, probably many centuries will have gone by - but the dry flowers look pretty, even when not hanging on a wall ^^

Und so verließ ich meinen Lieblings-Secondhand-Ort, 

gemeinsam mit einem tollen neuen Jutebeutel den sie mir geschenkt haben, damit ich meine neuen Sachen tragen konnte. Und wieder war ich zwar (angesichts der Anzahl der Teile, nur) um insgesamt 35€ ärmer, aber trotzdem glücklich, diese für gebrauchte Dinge ausgegeben zu haben. Wie man sieht, kann man bei der Auswahl in Secondhandläden und Ebay, auf die Möchtegern-Hipster-Klamotte von h&m und Zara getrost verzichten. Leute, wir brauchen die nicht. Es gibt noch genug Kleidung da draussen, sogar für den kalten norddeutschen Winter :-)

And so I left my favourite place for thrifting, 

together with a very pretty cotton bag that they gifted me so that I was able to take all the stuff home! And again, 35€ total magically left my wallet, but as always I'm happy to have spend them on used items instead of buying new. As you can see, with that selection of nice clothing in secondhand stores and online, you can skip the wannabe-hipster stuff from h&m and Zara. Guys, we don't need them! 
There's enough used clothing out there for us, even for a cold winter :-)
